Georgiann Olds married Cornelius Webb Williams in Dallas County, Alabama on December 19, 1906. It is from this marriage, the Williams and Olds families merged, and the family reunions are a testament to this fact.
The Olds family begins with two couples: Israel and Millie Hatcher and Neal and Susan Powell. From the union between Israel and Millie around 1850, nine children were born: Mattie, Henrietta, Clarissa, Irene, Scott, Ceasar, Channie, Millie, and Enoch. From the union of Neal and Susan, four children were born: Susan, Peter, Tilda, and Sally.
As was common in these days, the Powell name changed at least two times in the records; the name changed from Powell to Clark, and then to Olds, which was kept.
Irene Hatcher and Peter Olds were united in marriage on January 6, 1878 in Dallas County, Alabama at Salem Church. (As a matter of fact, Irene and Peter may have been acquaintances with Butler and Rachel Williams. The same minister - Nathan Stratmon - married Butler Williams and Rachel Harris on the same day and same church!)
Irene and Peter were blessed to have six children: Tildon, Sally, Fannie, Georgiann, Mary, and Lily Ann. Georgiann and Cornelius likely grew up together, in the same neighborhood in Mitchells, Dallas County, Alabama. They moved to Cincinnati, Ohio sometime between 1935-1940. From their union were born twelve (12) children, of which 9 survived: Eddie Sr., Charlie Joe, Cecil, Cornelius (Neal), Tildon, James, Irene, Ida Mae, and Corrine.
